Whistler Transportation
Getting around Whistler shouldn't be too difficult as the public bus system is top-notch. Getting to Whistler...well, thats a different story but theres several options you can use to get there.
Train
Rail service is provided between the Whistler railway station and North Vancouver by the Whistler Mountaineer.
Buses
Local bus service is provided by the Whistler aTransit Ltd. and you need to know about the Whistler Transit System can be found here
Air Travel
The main airport that most Whistler residents/tourists use is the Vancouver International Airport, which is located 140 km south.
Bicycling
Many people bike around Whistler and there are bike paths in some of the area. Theres probably more mountain biking trails than street trails actually! If you want to purchase a secondhand bike, you can always check advertisements out Craigslist.
Car Rental
Car rentals are easy possible in Whistler and can be useful if making trips outside of the area, for example to go to Vancouver or the USA visit. Some major rental companies you can contact include Budget, Enterprise, and National, Avis.
An International Drivers License from a foreign country can be used to legally drive in Canada. If in Canada for only a year or less, an International Drivers License is all you need to legally operate a motor vehicle, but if you intend to stay for longer than a year, you need to get a Canadian drivers license.
